The Issue:
The state government lockdowns of the economy are the issue of our day and the greatest infringement on the liberties of the American people in modern history. They are absolutely unprecedented in American history. With the lockdowns, we are seeing big increases in depression, suicide, death from other treatable illnesses. There is a wave of inflation with a budget deficit in the trillions and over 30% of the dollars in circulation being printed this year. Violent crime is up, millions of jobs have been lost and 40% of small businesses have gone under while corporations collect hundreds of billions in bailouts, again.
Lockdowns have not worked. Mask mandates have not worked. The tests are unreliable. The makers of the coming vaccine have protected themselves from liability for any problems with it.
We were never asked for permission for these lockdowns. There was no vote. There is no consensus that this is how a pandemic ought to be handled. We cannot continue down this road to ruin. We cannot accept this “new normal”. The government has claimed the power to tell us when we can or cannot see our families, what businesses we can or cannot patronize, where we can or can’t go, and are actively tracking our activity. We do not consent to this. We demand that these lockdowns be abolished and the American people freed.
Abolish Lockdowns
Please fill out this form to stay up to date with any updates or calls to action for the Abolish Lockdowns campaign. We will be, and encourage you to reach out to town/city councils, reach out to police departments and sheriffs offices and organize protests.
Our Solution:
There are other ways of handling this pandemic that are effective and not a complete removal of our liberties. One method, as advocated within the Great Barrington Declaration, is focused protection.
This declaration was proposed by Dr. Martin Kulldorf, Dr. Sunetra Gupta, and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, all professors and experts within virology and epidemiology. From their website:
“As immunity builds in the population, the risk of infection to all – including the vulnerable – falls. We know that all populations will eventually reach herd immunity – i.e. the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. Our goal should therefore be to minimize mortality and social harm until we reach herd immunity.
The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection.
Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals.
Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.“
Our Strategy:
If the governors will not reconsider this strategy of destructive lockdowns, then we must defy them. We are calling on the city councils in America’s towns to pass resolutions not recognizing the authority of these unconstitutional dictates. We are calling on law enforcement, police, sheriffs and health departments, to stop enforcing these dictates. And we are calling on you, the people, to see that it happens. City Councils, sheriffs and police around the country are already refusing to enforce. They are already losing control. Without enforcement and without the faith of the people, the lockdown dictates are little more than hot air. Please use the materials on this website, the presentation, the example dissident sherrif’s statement from Lancaster county PA, or the example resolution from Mossyrock WA, to lobby your local council’s, police department’s and sheriffs offices and demand that they stop enforcing these measures.
